Peter Cole sculptures - "The Circus of Life" exhibition -

“The Circus of Life” develops its personality by a surprising game of shapes; it is Peter Cole’s virtuosity to create a bunch of playful characters, which in the idyllic of sympathy, places signals to begin the voyage into every sculpture.

The portraits on wood of animal characters presented into squares do reference to the ancient puzzle toys made by Mexicans decades ago, a creative practice now almost forgotten and found only in the context of traditional village festivities. Cole has left aside the sounding colours of them to implant a desert one style, so you could discover “The Monkey Man” and the “Bad Boy” artworks.

And suddenly, from the rocks, the “Ascending Man” will fly on board of a new kind of rocket, one that has avoided the high-tech fuels to essay the ecological impulse of wings, an extension of human arms leader by a toucan. And “The Man with his Hat on Fire” will wait until someone arrives to use the ladder and climb his intellect to extinguish the flames. Meanwhile “The Red Tiger” scares hunters and birds during his stay in the nest of the owl.
