Tami Bahat: "Past is Present" en la Catherine Edelman Gallery, Chicago

Y es en esta ocasión, el oficio de la luz y su manejo el agente que transporta el tiempo. Con la estética de los antiguos cuadros, la fotógrafa israelí Tami Bahat conduce a los visitantes a un rincón visual donde lo no evidente se privilegia en fotos que, como en aquellas viejas pinturas de los grandes maestros de la plástica europea, se ahogan en claroscuros que llenan de angustia el lienzo. Es entonces que las metáforas son dramas del pasado, pero también del presente. Presente que se indaga en luces tenues de naturaleza muerta y retratos enfáticos en vestimenta de épocas de nobles y vasallos.
Es entonces que olvidamos el chillante neón, para encaminarnos por la extrañeza de las velas y portar las emociones en corazones de madera y algodón.
“Past is Present” estará abierta al público de la ciudad de Chicago hasta este viernes 30 de agosto 2019 en la Catherine Edelman Gallery. Poco más de 30 imágenes de la serie fotográfica “Dramatis Personae” han sido montadas para el deleite de los visitantes.
